"Try having an affair with your partner?"
What's this about? The guy who created a relationship game based on love is now suggesting that you have an affair?
Yes, because the kind of affair that I am proposing is one that you have with your partner. We all desire more excitement, passion and fulfillment in our relationships. Sometimes an affair, or even the thought of an affair, can occur when the relationship fails to meet those desires.
We might look outside of our relationship to find that "other" person who we think can help meet our physical and emotional needs. It is usually a point of desperation for the person who is thinking about having an affair. The grass may look greener on the other side of the fence, but this "property" usually comes with a high price. There can be guilt, shame, fear, and anger associated with an affair and this can result in a breakdown in the relationship and family. No one wins, just ask anyone who has been through it.
We have a choice when we feel our needs are not being met in our relationship. First of all we have to let our partner know how we are feeling and that we desire change. This awareness then needs to be followed up with action. It is easy to become complacent in our relationship. Being comfortable is okay but being bored is not okay.
It is time to shake it up baby. Do something new and exciting together. Create more passion, be more intimate and focus on love. Talk like it is going to be your last time together. Forgive, forget and let old wounds heal. Complain less and compliment more.
This can be a new chapter in your relationship and together you can write your own romance story. Make it exciting because you and your partner are the authors and actors in this love affair!
